Benny is a cheeky, three-year-old Collie cross with a loveable character! He enjoys keeping busy, whether that be joining his people pals in a game of fetch, utilising his clever brain while learning new tricks, or investigating on a treat or scent trail! While Benny is a fun-loving chap, he also has a sensitive side. He'll prefer a patient and gentle approach to making friends but will become a playful, loyal and loving companion if you give him the time he needs.

Type of home needed

Benny's perfect match would be with active adopters who have plenty of time to dedicate just to him! He prefers interacting with his humans while participating in fun activities, rather than receiving lots of fuss and cuddles but tends to become more affectionate once he has formed a solid friendship with you. He's on the lookout for a supportive family who could continue his reward-based training to help him gain some confidence, as well as building up his skillset! Benny will need to be walked on his lead at all times and requires any adventures to be in low dog-populated areas or at quieter times of the day, as he isn't the most confident when it comes to seeing other canines out and about. He'll need to be the only pet at home and the youngest members of his family and any visitors to the home must be aged at least 14. Ideally, he'd like a multi-person household so that there's always someone around to keep him company and he'd like 'access all areas' in the home. A garden of his own is essential.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Shoreham Rehoming Centre in Sussex.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
