I'm looking for a new home...

Basil is an active six-year-old Patterdale cross with a fun and playful character. He can be worried of strangers, especially men, so will need his potential adopters to come to the centre several times to build a bond with him.

Type of home needed

Basil is looking for a quiet lifestyle away from built-up or busy areas. He'll need to live in an adult-only household, and will ideally live with at least 2 people in the home, as he doesn't like to be alone at the moment. He would like to be the only pet at the home and would like his own garden to let off steam. Basil can be friendly and playful with dogs but quieter walking areas would be beneficial for him away, from busy traffic. He can travel in the car which gives his new owners more options to vary his walks.

More about me

Once Basil has built a bond with you he will love to be by your side while out walking, exploring and engaging in fun training. Basil is now on the lookout for a foster home while he awaits a place to call forever. If you would like to foster him, please fill out a rehoming application, and state on your form that you're interested in fostering.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Shoreham Rehoming Centre in Sussex.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
