Our rehoming centres are not open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us.

We’ve set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment and this now applies to all of our rehoming centres in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Biggles is a 1-year-old Lurcher with a friendly, spirited character. He enjoys the company of people - sometimes so much so, that he can become over-excited and forget some of his manners. However, he's a super smart chap who enjoys using his brain and has lots of potential to progress in his training with the help of dedicated owners.

Type of home needed

A fun, varied lifestyle where he can get lots of input and enrichment will be great for Biggles. The youngest members of his family must be over the age of 16 and it is essential that he has a garden of his own. Due to his high chase drive, he must be walked on his muzzle and he cannot live with cats, caged birds or other small furry pets. He enjoys meeting other dogs, but his exuberant playstyle isn't always appreciated by others. His new owners should help him choose appropriate play-friends and he may be able to live with another well-suited dog in his new home. Quieter walking areas would be ideal initially, while he settles into his routine.

More about me

Biggles will make for an excellent companion to an active family who can continue with his training and provide him with plenty of outlets for his enthusiastic nature. In line with current government guidelines, we can open to the public through a limited, appointment-only basis. Please call us to register your interest in Biggles, and if it seems you could be a match, you may be invited to our centre for an appointment to meet him.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Biggles, who is based at Shoreham (Sussex). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
