About Beanie

5 to 7 Years

Beautiful Beanie is a gentle and polite 10 year lurcher who loves to cuddle. Beanie came into us with a leg injury and is currently having some gentle physiotherapy daily which our team will be able to show you. Because of this he is only on short lead walks to aid his recovery. He is well behaved and clean in the house and although he is very inquisitive he has shown no signs of chewing anything other than his toys and he loves to interact and play. He can get a little overwhelmed sometimes, but a cuddle usually sets his world to rights.

Type of home needed

Beanie is very gentle on the lead, and polite on his walks with people, children and dogs. As is normal with his breed he is fascinated with birds on his walks but responds well to commands. Due to his chase drive he will need to remain on lead and muzzled when on walks. He is not reactive to dogs barking in neighbouring gardens and rarely barks, other than a polite bark in the morning if he really needs to go outside. He is a bright boy who picks up quickly and loves to please, especially if a treat or cuddle is involved. He travels well in the car and settles down quite quickly on journeys. He can live with children 12 years and above. Beanie could also live with another calm dog.

More about me

His physio is coming along, and he can go on slightly longer walks and is able to go up and down stairs without any issue. He can now be left for short periods, but he does enjoy company so needs a reassuring cuddle when you return. Potential owners will need to be prepared for mediccal costs.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Salisbury Rehoming Centre in Wiltshire.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
