About Dexter

Age:

Likes

Dexter is a 10 year old male terrier who loves to show that old dogs can learn new tricks. Dexter is a bright chap who needs owners who can help him with learning his new training programmes with the help of the behaviour team here.

Type of home needed

Dexter needs a quiet home with one adult owner and have minimal visitors and no visiting children. He will need his own secure garden and the home should be non open plan. We feel Dexter would be happier as the only dog in the home. He is not a fan of car travel so this will need to be non essential for his new adopter. Time left will need to be built up slowly and to continue with his settle training.

More about me

The adopter for Dexter would be required to purchase a metal dog pen for Dexter as part of his training plan for people coming in and out of rooms. Potential owners will need to come and meet Dexter 3 or 4 times before adopting.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Salisbury Rehoming Centre in Wiltshire.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
