Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

Boogie is a 10 year old beagle that despite his age still loves being out exploring the country putting that beagle nose to work! Boogie is a very sociable boy that loves to meet new dogs and people on his terms. He walks beautifully on lead so is a pleasure to be with. After a walk his favorite activity is sunbathing and we often catch him snoozing in his bed out in his compound catching some vitamin D. Boogie is full of enthusiasm and can get very eager in various situations often meaning he demonstrates quite regularly that beagle bark!

Type of home needed

Boogie loves food a little too much and often becomes uncomfortable at the possibility of sharing. For this reason we advise any home isn't open plan and he can have a room such as a utility of his own for meal times. Boogie is happy to have dog friends out on walks but we suggest he is the only animal so he can have all the attention! Boogie would love his own garden to be able to continue his hobby of sunbathing but would prefer a quieter set up so feel he's better suited to an adult only home. Ideally any home of Boogies will have previous experience of owning hounds and are familiar with their breed characteristics (Beagle bark!). A home Boogie can thrive in is one that can set out a clear routine and guidance for him as he has spent a large part of his life in kennels, adapting to home life may take some time to sink in.

More about me

Boogie is currently living in our specialist rehabilitation unit where he is furthering his skills to help him and his reactions around resources he finds of value. He is a dog that will require multiple visits to the Centre to ensure adopters are comfortable with a routine and settling in plan that the staff at the centre will discuss with them. Boogie is on joint supplements for age related stiffness which is important to consider when enquiring about him.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.
