Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Cooper would be the perfect dog for the staffy fans out there!

Type of home needed

Cooper loves to spend time with his careers/handlers having a cuddle or going out for walks,he absolutely loves water and looks forward to his offsite trips to new places where he can explore all the new sights and smells. After all this excitment he then loves to snuggle up and have a nap; although we are sure he is dreaming of his next adventure. We are looking for adopters that will understand Coopers needs.Cooper doesnt like dogs and is on a muzzle programme. he is now fully muzzle trained and is happy to wear one out and about on walks, this is essential for Cooper; and his new family must understand that he does need to wear one in his new environment when out on walks. As part of rehoming Cooper, our trainers will need to pass this training onto his new home and will demonstrate the work that has been done with his muzzle training.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Cooper, who is based at Shrewsbury (Shropshire). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
