We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment and this now applies to all of our rehoming centres in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Likes

Milo is a sweet little guy and is very friendly once he gets to know you. He is very wary of unknown people and prefers to build a bond slowly, at his own pace. He loves his soft squeaky toys and prefers to play with you but will happily take a toy off to his bed to play on his own. However, he quickly becomes bored. He can be picky with his food and will let you now if it's not up to his standard and enjoys soft chewsticks from time to time. He likes you to be with him when he's eating as he needs a little encouragment to finish his meals. Milo is nervous of dogs and will bark at them if they are too much for him. He is fine in the company of calm dogs that wont bother him. Although, he would most likely prefer to be the only dog in the home as once he has built a bond with someone, he would like all the attention to himself.

Type of home needed

Milo would love to be in a quiet home where he can have the time and space to settle into his new environment. He would need calm, loving owners who will understand his needs. Being a typical Chihuahua, he can be a little nosiy so training is needed to help gain his confidence in new situations. If you have had this breed before and are looking for a little dog with a strong character then Milo would be perfect for you. He would need to live with children over the age of 12.

More about me

To apply to rehome me please click on the 'come and meet me' button below. Applications will close Monday 21st September or when we have found a suitable home.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Milo, who is based at Shrewsbury (Shropshire). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
