Covid-19 update: Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with social distancing measures in place to keep our staff and adopters safe.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe, including matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free.

Local restrictions may affect our rehoming procedures, so please check the rules for your area: we’re not able to facilitate appointments or adoptions across different tiers, or anywhere there are travel restrictions.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Tiger is a handsome 3yr old ex-racing greyhound. Certain situations and meeting new people can be worrying for him, but he gains a lot of confidence and comfort from being around his fellow long legged friends. Once he gets to knows you, he shows his true colours. He is a very sweet and lively boy, who loves his toys and will happily chase them or take them to his bed to squeak.

Type of home needed

Tiger is looking for a calm and patient, adult only home, who can give him time to gradually adjust to home life. He would like to live with another sighthound. Although Tiger loves being around other sighthounds, other dog breeds can be a bit confusing and exciting for him, especially small ones! He is currently working on his dog skills and will need to continue this in the home, as well as building his confidence. Due to his ex-racing background, he will need to be muzzled on his walks and would like a secure garden with at least 6ft fences, so he doesn't miss out on his zoomies!

More about me

Tiger CANNOT live with cats or small furries. To apply to rehome Tiger please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when he has found a suitable match.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Tiger, who is based at Newbury (Berkshire). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
