Vinnie is a 1-year-old large crossbreed looking for a patient, experienced and confident family who is prepared to put in some work now to have a fabulous dog. Vinnie is a sweet but sensitive boy who has lacked in socialisation. He can easily go from being very excitable - particularly around new people - to suddenly being unsure and shows this by mouthing his handler for reassurance. Vinnie loves his toys, so much so that he will happily play with them on his own but is always up for sharing them with his human friends. Being a young boy, he really enjoys exploring the outside world, sniffing out new smells and enjoying his surroundings so a home who could take him on new adventures would be great! Vinnie is keen to go and see hallo to other dogs, but is actually a bit shy and quickly gets overwhelmed. If other dogs react at Vinnie, Vinnie can't get away quick enough.

Type of home needed

Vinnie is looking for an active adult-only home who have experience and are confident around large breeds and who are looking to bring on a dog with lots of potential. Vinnie will enjoy meeting dogs out and about but should be the only pet in the home so he can be your focus! Vinnie will need minimal leaving hours that are built up slowly as he has not been left much in the past. He will a need a medium-large sized private secure garden . Vinnie enjoys his walks out and about, but is still a bit nervous of the car, so local walks will be needed initially and these will need to be in quiet areas whilst he's settling. The most important thing for Vinnie is adopters who are prepared to take the time to understand him as a dog and to only ever use positive reinforcement in his training - he loves to learn!

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Manchester Rehoming Centre.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
