Reuben is a super sweet 11 year old staffy who still has plenty of life left in him. He loves to chase a tennis ball around and play a game of tug-o-war - he enjoys his walks and can go for miles on big adventures even at his older age. Reuben absolutely loves to be around people and is a very friendly boy. He loves to snuggle up with you and is always interested in what you're doing to see if he can join in on the fun but this does mean he struggles to be left alone at times. With a good routine and time to settle, he will no doubt become your best friend and your sticky plaster. If you are familiar with the staffy breed, then you will understand Reuben and all his quirks. He is vocal boy who likes to tell you stories and run around shouting out 'woo-woo's' to show off his toys. Reuben settles amazingly when he's around others and has proven to be the perfect office dog here at the centre after his daily sniffs where he shows off his great loose lead walking.

Type of home needed

Reuben struggles to be left on his own so will need owners that have minimal leaving hours. Reuben has previously been around children with good success but here at the centre he has yelped on a small number of occasions over handling so due to his increasing age its best for him to live with children aged 11 and over. Reuben can be a little hit and miss with other dogs. He used to live in a home with another dog but struggled a little out and about meeting strange dogs. He gains confidence over time with new doggy pals which means be could possibly go on walks with familiar dogs, but off-lead strange dogs are to be avoided. Apart from the dog he lived with previously, Reuben has shown us that he does prefer and thrive off being the only dog in home. He would be looking for his own secure private garden to relax and play.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Manchester Rehoming Centre.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
