This handsome chap is our very lovely 18 month old great Dane cross, Humphrey. Humphrey is a wonderful boy who loves to greet his favourite people with a waggy tail and lots of slobber! He loves nothing more than going for a nice walk in a quiet area where he can take in all the sights and smells before having a cuddle and a good old bum scratch. Humphrey is a smart boy who loves his food so this is great for doing training with him as he loves using his brain and keeping himself busy. Humphrey loves toys too and will run around and play with them, although he can rip them up to get to the stuffing! Humphrey also enjoys saying hello to other friendly dogs and enjoys a good rough and tumble wrestle off lead.

Type of home needed

For Humphrey's life to be as stress free as possible it's important that his home has minimal visitors, any visitors would need to be introduced outside of the home and he should not have access to the front door, this would mean the home needs to be non open plan. He would need adopters to be around most of the time initially and build up his leaving time slowly. Due to his size & breed adopters should have experience of living with a large breed and have a private, secure medium to large garden so that he can blow off some steam and use it as an area for some of his training. Humphrey would need access to quiet walks from his home where he can enjoy exploring on lead without the stress of lots of distractions, he would need to be kept on lead and muzzled when walking in public places. Car travel would need to be non essential initially as he needs to build up a positive association. Humphrey will need an adult only home with no visiting children. He would also need to be the only dog so he can be your main focus, he is friendly and enjoys to play with other dogs so would love to have regular doggy friends. Humphrey sadly can't live with cats.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Manchester Rehoming Centre.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
