Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

The handsome chap is our very own Cooper! His sweet nature yet goofy personality has made him a firm favourite with all the staff here at the centre. He is an adorable 7 year old German Shepherd hoping he can find his forever family very soon so he can have lots of fun with them and give them all the love he has to offer. Cooper's age doesn't slow him down, he still thoroughly enjoys going for adventures where he can explore new areas and have a good sniff of everything. He loves to play with toys, especially squeaky ones and he always loves a game of tuggy with his friends. Cooper loves his human pals and loves to greet them with a waggy tail, loves to have a fuss and a cuddle and especially a lovely groom of his ever so handsome coat!

Type of home needed

Cooper is reactive to other animals, especially dogs, and becomes stressed in the vicinity of them, therefore his new home must be in a low dog populated area. It would be beneficial that his new adopters have knowledge or are happy to research the breed before adopting. His home will need to be set back from the road as he is likely to bark at people and dogs passing by. A home with a good-sized secure garden with 6 foot fencing is needed so he has a nice, safe space for him to relax and play off lead and this needs to have no neighbouring dogs. Cooper will need a non open plan home with the option to keep him seperate from the front door. He can live with children aged 14 and over and he needs to be the only pet in the home due to his reactivity. Cooper will be going home on a lead and muzzle disclaimer which means he must wear both of these things when out on his walks.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Manchester Rehoming Centre.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
