Yuki is a 2 year old Akita who has had a difficult start to life and needs a quiet patient home that will help settle her in. She is a sweet girl and although nervous when she first came to us, she has come more out of her shell and gets very excited to see her human friends and wants to play with them. Yuki is generally anxious of new things and will take a while to adjust but given the chance she will make a great companion.
Type of home needed
Yuki would need her own secure garden that she can build her confidence in and this will also help with housetraining. She would also like her new home to be away from busy roads as she can be worried by traffic. Yuki is worried by car travel so would need this to be built up gradually and would like local access to quiet walks in the meantime. Yuki would need any children in the home to be aged 16 and over who will respect her space, she would also need minimal visitors to the house initially. Yuki may require her own space now and again to help her feel more comfortable so would need her new home to be non open plan. Yuki can lead walk with some dogs but can be avoidant of others so would need to be the only dog in the home but as Yuki is still young, she would benefit from dog socialisation.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our
rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful
staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now
able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs.
This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of
being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by
your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without
your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to
those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs
get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them
their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult
time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue
looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
