We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. Ruby is a sweet, lively 8 year old Staffy cross looking for her new home. Her favourite thing is spending time with her human friends and meeting new people with a super waggy tail! She is a friendly girl who really enjoys lots of attention and loves a cuddle! Ruby is a bit of a foodie and likes snacking on tasty treats so this will be good to teach her some new tricks. She enjoys running around playing with her toys particularly in the garden with any human friend. Ruby is a clever girl, who loves to learn new things and really is a lively bundle of fun!

Type of home needed

Ruby is looking for a home with a secure garden and no neighbouring dogs. Ruby has lead walked with dogs here at the centre but is not always happy with them in close contact. She will be going home on a lead and muzzle disclaimer and will need to be walked in areas where other dogs won't run up to her offlead. She does like to be with people so leaving hours should be built up gradually. Ruby can live with children aged 11 years and over. She must be the only dog in the home and cannot live with cats.

More about me

Ruby is a really sweet girl who wants to be with you and be a part of a family. If you think you could give Ruby her loving new home, please give Please note that under the coronavirus restrictions we would do meets with Ruby at the centre following social distancing criteria.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Ruby, who is based at Manchester. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
