I'm looking for a new home...

About Karen

2 to 5 Years

Karen isn't the most confident Greyhound we've ever had at the centre so her carers are giving her lots of TLC to help her feel better. She worries when she's out walking and often has her tail tucked under, but she's happier when she has another Greyhound to walk alongside her. Karen is quite happy to meet new people as long as they take a slow approach with her, but she is fearful of new situations. She's looking for a family who won't rush her into anything and will allow her to settle at her own pace.

Type of home needed

Karen gets along well with other dogs and it may do her good to live with another dog that is calm and steady. She is very watchful of the wildlife at the centre and will sometime bark at he squirrels, but we always advise walking ex-racing dogs muzzled when around smaller dogs, cats and wildlife. Karen has been used to the muzzle since she was very young and has no problem with wearing it. She can live with children aged 14 and over. She has most likely spent her life in a kennel environment so she'll require a little patience from you when it comes to house training, but they do generally get the hang of it quite quickly.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Merseyside Rehoming Centre in Liverpool.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.
