Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

Frisbee loving Dottie is a fabulous young lurcher with the most wonderfully expressive ears! She didn't have the best start to life and was taken in by a kind family but unfortunately she's a little too much for the young children. Dottie is quite cautious when meeting new people or going to new places but she soon snaps out of it when her curiosity gets the better of her. She absolutely loves any kind of contact or interaction, unless you are a vet! She becomes very worried with formal handling or examination so we've been taking her in to the vet room for some positive interactions without contact, to help her feel less nervous.

Type of home needed

Dottie gets along well with other dogs but she is very full on in her style of play and it's too much for some. She would be better as the only dog in the home with friends at the park, or possibly living with a dog of similar play style. Play sessions would need to be monitored though, as Dottie becomes overexcited quite quickly! She is house trained but may need a refresher as she's only 9 months, and she can live with confident children over the age of 10. Dottie will need help with her own confidence building and shouldn't be pushed into situations she isn't ready for. She is already showing interest in chasing birds and small animals so care must be taken around cats, small dogs and wildlife.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Merseyside Rehoming Centre in Liverpool.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
