Covid-19 update April 2021: Our rehoming centres are currently closed to the public for general browsing. We’re still rehoming virtually and we’re here to help if you can no longer care for your dog. Please don’t visit, or travel to our centres unless you have already been matched with a dog, or are leaving donations at one of our contact-free drop off points.

Our rehoming centres are currently closed to the public for general browsing.

We kindly ask that you don’t visit, or travel to, our centres. We’re still rehoming, with a virtual matching system and safety measures in place. If you’re matched with a dog, you’ll be invited an appointment at the centre to meet them, and if all goes well, make plans to take them home.

Beautiful Elsa is 5 years old and is having quite a tough time just now. Everything in her world has changed and she's rather bewildered, so her carers are trying to provide as much routine as possible, to help her settle. She's a very friendly girl but sudden movements and over handling can cause her distress, so we're taking a very slow approach, which she likes. She isn't used to going for walks so we're building that up slowly so that she can gain confidence, but she does seem to be enjoying the sunshine and exploring the centre.

Type of home needed

Elsa is very typical of her breed and we'd love to find her a home with a family that has Shar Pei experience. She needs to be allowed to go at her own pace, and will come on in leaps and bounds if allowed to do so. Elsa walks happily with other dogs but she doesn't enjoy face to face contact with them, so would be better suited to being the only dog at home. Due to Elsa's nervous nature and fear of sudden movements, we feel a home where any children are older teens would be best for her. She is house trained and used to travelling in the car. Elsa has some medical issues, but nothing unexpected from her breed!

More about me

If you are interested in adopting Elsa, please click "Come And Meet Me" below, you will also be able to discuss her health further with one of our team. Elsa will need a few visits paying to her at the centre before she goes home, due to that nervous nature.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.
