Axil is a wonderful young German Shepherd but he really isn't enjoying the kennel environment at all. When he's away from it, he's able to relax and focus on his handlers, leaning into them for comfort and reassurance, as well as a bit of a fuss. He chases after toys, and this is his favourite outlet to forget his worries. He'd love to find an experienced family who can teach him about life and take him on adventures.
Type of home needed
Axil's stress means he isn't really able to focus well on his interactions with other dogs. He will require ongoing training once home with adopters, and help and advice is always on hand for our team. Axil will need a home with no children and to be visited multiple times at the centre to build up a bond with his adopters before he leaves for good. Sadly he also has some problems with his legs and could require some repeat visits to our vet, post adoption.
During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our
rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful
staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now
able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs.
This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of
being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by
your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without
your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to
those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs
get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them
their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult
time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue
looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
