Poor Dixie isn't enjoying this period in his life, he's finding things a little stressful. He will seek out a quiet spot, but will come and sit with hyou and cover your face with kisses once he's got to know you. When he's comfortable, he absolutely loves to be made a fuss of, and is looking for adopters who will help him build up his confidence.
Type of home needed
Dixie doesn't have a clue what to do when it comes to other dogs. He can be avoidant, but then tries to get in a quick sniff when he thinks they're not looking! He will need to be the only dog in the home for now, but needs help with confidence around other dogs. Guidance is always available from our training team at the centre, both throughout adoption and beyond. Dixie loves company, so it's best to build up any leaving time slowly, to get him used to it. He can live with children aged about 14, but they must understand the need to go at Dixie's pace.
