Our rehoming centres are currently closed to the public but you can still adopt some of our dogs: take a look at their profiles to see which ones. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming.

We’ve set up a new rehoming process which includes social distancing measures to help keep staff and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment and this now applies to all of our rehoming centres in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Likes

Barney is a lively 4 year old boy who is bursting with energy and is raring to go. He's a lover of plastic bottles and will choose these over expensive toys any day of the week! When he's not out and about, Barney is happy to lounge across the back of the sofa in a very cat like fashion. He's an agility star too, and we can't walk past it at the centre without him jumping on! When Barney's in the mood, he can be a real snuggler, and likes to be close by.

Type of home needed

Barney needs a special family who are willing to work with him, and allow him time to settle without pushing him. It's essential that Barney lives in a quiet, child and pet free environment, preferably with few visitors. He is under a training program at the centre that will need to be kept up in the home, full support will be given by our Training & Behaviour Team at all times, and his adopters must be willing to work closely with the team for the first few weeks of Barney's adoption.

More about me

I am not currently available for rehoming as I would like to meet my new family a few times before I go home, which is not possible at the moment due to current restrictions. My Canine Carers will let you know as soon as this changes, so keep an eye on my profile.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Barney, who is based at Merseyside (Liverpool). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog.

We’ve set up a new rehoming process which includes social distancing measures to help keep staff and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming.

We will, of course, be doing everything to ensure the safety of our staff, and adopters when we offer this service. You can find out more about this below.
