Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

Major is just a big snuggly pudding of a dog! He loves being around people and never stops showering his friends in love and affection. He takes a couple of meets before he'll show his true 'soft-lad' character, but with a few tasty treats in your pocket you'll be snuggling on the sofa in no time! At 11 years old he's proved that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! He used to be super strong on lead but now walks beautifully. He can still be strong if an exciting smell catches his attention but most of the time he's good as gold. He can get playful when the mood takes him, but mostly he likes to chill. He's fully housetrained too. He gets on brilliantly with other dogs out and about and enjoys having walking buddies or play date visits from his doggy friends. We would consider homing him with another similarly relaxed and sensible dog pending them meeting first. One thing is for sure, with Major around you will always feel loved.

Type of home needed

Major is looking for a new family who he can shower with his love. He'll be fine with children over 14 who are comfortable around large breed dogs. He's not used to being left at all, and was never left in his previous home, so he'll need someone around all the time. This just means more sofa snuggles though! He has a few medical issues which potential adopters need to consider the ongoing cost of and could do with losing a few pounds. Our Vet will discuss all this in more detail with you. You'll definitely need to share your furniture with him and he'll likely want to sleep in his owners bedroom. He really is just a big soft teddy bear!

More about me

Major is currently living with one of our amazing foster carers so he can retain all his home comforts while he waits to find his forever home. They told us he is the perfect house guest and are loving having him around, so if you're looking for a super loving and affectionate BFG of a dog, get in touch NOW!

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Leeds Rehoming Centre.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
