Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

Jake is one of the sweetest, most loving dogs you could ever wish to meet. He's 7 years old and due to an unsettled life previously he's been left with a few anxieties. He likes to take his time to get to know you properly but if you put in the time to come and see him regularly and give him the space he needs initially then in no time he'll be your shadow! He's super foody so if there are a few treats on offer he'll show you all his training moves. Once he's bonded with you he'll show you what a fun and playful boy he really is. He enjoys his walkies in quiet areas as sadly he's worried by other dogs and prefers to stay away from them. He's perfectly manageable though and happily wears his muzzle out and about. He's so affectionate that he'll spend the whole day snuggling on the sofa with you if give him the chance!

Type of home needed

Jake needs a patient family who will see that the time and effort initially will be well worth it once he's built a relationship. He'll need someone around all the time as sadly he cannot be left at all, and it will likely be some time before anything can be changed on this front, but that just means more Jake-snuggles! He needs to be the only pet in a calm and predictable adult only home where there will no visiting children at all. He loves to have a bounce around off-lead so a secure garden will be needed. You'll need to share your sofa with him and be prepared for lots of snuggling! He will need you to visit him multiple times at the centre before he'll be ready to fly the nest, so his new home needs to be reasonably local to the Leeds rehoming centre, but once the bond is there, you'll want to be with him just as much as he wants to be with you!

More about me

If you are looking for an incredibly loyal and loving companion and you're prepared to put in the time and effort to slowly build that bond, then Jake is definitely the boy for you! All he needs is someone to give him the chance he deserves.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Leeds Rehoming Centre.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
