Our rehoming centres are not open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff, visitors and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Mabel is one of those girls who immediately steals your heart! She's not only beautiful (just look at those eyes!) but once she's bonded with you she's ever so sweet. She loves being around people and although she is a little shy when she first meets you, she'll be your best friend in no time. She likes to greet her human friends with lots of giddy tail wags and kisses. She's also a smart lass who enjoys a bit of training so if you fancy teaching her a few new tricks then she'll be up for it!

Type of home needed

Mabel quickly bonds with her human friends but will need an adult only home in a quiet area with no neighbouring dogs. She is very worried by other dogs so likes to walk in areas where she won't see them up close, but she travels well so she's fine to be taken to quiet places for fun days out. She's doing really well with her muzzle training which will help keep her safe out and about. Once she's settled in her new home and bonded with her owners she will be fine to be left for short periods.

More about me

Potential adopters will need to visit Mabel a few times before she'll be ready to go home but she's worth the effort! You'll be going home with the most loyal and loving dog you could wish for.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Mabel, who is based at Leeds. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
