Cheka is a proper pint sized staffy who's heart was broken after losing her owner and her home. She took a while to settle into life at Dogs Trust but has truly turned a corner lately and is ready for the next chapter in her life. Cheka is around 8 but still has bags of energy so a large secure garden is a must for her to burn off some extra calories. Experience of staffies or other bull breeds is not essential but would help as she does need a little additional training around the harness and lead. Cheka is currently on medication for her skin which may be ongoing. Our vet will happily talk through the costs involved with this.

Type of home needed

Cheka is a real cuddle monster and just adores relaxing on the sofa with her favorite humans. She isn't fussy though and will happily make a big fuss of everyone she meets. Cheka is happier in familiar places and her true personality shines through so a good routine and a less adventerous owner who is around all the time would suit her fine. She would need an adult only home although visiting young adults should be ok. Cheka is a little unsure around dogs and would prefer not to share her home with them. Out and about she is very managable as long as dogs aren't too invasive or OTT around her. Cheka is worried by traffic so will need a home away from busy roads and with access to quiet walks on the door step. She is great company and needs a very special owner to cherish and shower her with love. Believe me she will repay you ten fold !!

More about me

Cheka will need to build up a good relationship with her owners before she leaves us which will involve lots of bonding sessions at the centre followed by several home visits and eventually a sleep over in her new pad. This means that her owners will need to live within an hours drive of the centre.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Leeds Rehoming Centre.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
