Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

Copper is a real sweetheart! He's 5 years old and was originally found all alone with a wound to his hind leg. Thankfully he has healed up beautifully and although he is a very shy lad to start with, he is starting to let his real personality slowly come through. He is quite a playful boy and enjoys playing with his handlers. His initial timid nature means he needs space to come round, but once he is comfortable with you he can show a more affectionate side. He's worried by other dogs but doesn't go looking for trouble. He'd rather just stay away and stick with his human buddies. He loves his food and this is roving to be the key to his heart! He'll be your best friend in no time if you have plenty of tasty treats in your pocket.

Type of home needed

Copper will need patient owners who will slowly build his confidence and continue his training, which he's doing really well with. Like all Lurchers he has a natural chase instinct so cannot share his home with any other pets. He'll need a peaceful home with adults only. A secure garden is a must so he has somewhere to play off-lead and continue his housetraining.

More about me

All Copper needs is a chance to prove himself. Our handlers all adore him and we can see so much potential in him. He just needs someone to help him be the dog we know he can be.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.
