Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

I'm looking for a new home...

About Edie

2 to 5 Years

Edie (2 years) is such a sweet girl who is great once she has a relationship with you, however she is very worried by unfamiliar people and takes time to build trust. She is more comfortable with females rather than males. Once there is a bond she is very interactive and affectionate. Unfortunately, she does not like being around other dogs so cannot share her home with any pets and must be walked in quiet areas where she won't have any dogs coming up to her. She loves to play with toys and is ace with her training. In the home, she is very clean, calm, and actually rather lazy! She simply enjoys a chilled life. She is still working on a few training areas, like muzzle work, but is ready to start getting to know her new family through regular visits to the centre while we continue her training.

Type of home needed

We are looking for a VERY special home for Edie. Due to her nervous character, she needs a calm and peaceful home with adults only and at least one female, who will be around all the time initially. She doesn't need attention all the time but just likes to know you're there. In time she will be ok to be left for short periods on her own. There must be few visitors to her home generally (no visiting children at all) and none during her settling in period. She can't live next door to another dog and the area needs to be generally low dog populated. She'll need easy access to quiet walking routes as she isn't keen on travelling too far. This also means her home must be no further than 30 minutes from the Leeds rehoming centre. She'll need a secure garden with 6ft fence so she has somewhere to play and explore as she finds her feet.

More about me

Although Edie is a very sensitive soul, with patient and understanding owners willing to give her the time and continue her training we believe she will flourish. Once she lets you into her circle she'll be your best friend and enjoy snuggling with you!

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.
