Chase (Monroe Mike)
Chase is a stunning 5-year-old ex-racing Greyhound. He's a sweet, sensitive boy in search of a loving home with gentle adopters who will give him the TLC that he deserves and a comfy sofa to call his own. He loves to relax and stretch out on a nice comfy bed. He is the definition of a couch-potato! Chase is happy to go out in the car, he will plod along on his lead gently by your side and he enjoys the company of other dogs. He is likely to find busy and loud environments worrying so would benefit from some quieter walking routes. He lacks confidence with new people, but once he knows that you're friendly and kind, he enjoys a fuss and slowly comes out of his shell. The more time that you spend with Chase, the more relaxed he becomes. Chase will make a loving companion for the adopters willing to put in the time to build up the relationship.
Type of home needed
Chase is looking for a loving home with adult adopters. It may take him some time to fully settle in a home environment, and to fully trust his humans, but when he gets there, the reward will be a friend for life. He would be best suited to a quiet and predictable home environment. Experience of ex-racing greyhounds and/or nervous dogs would be beneficial. He could potentially live with another dog of similar size and will need a home without cats or small furries. He has limited experience of living in a home so he will need to be introduced to home-living in a nice positive way with lots of treats, praise, and reassurance to help him build confidence. He may need help with his housetraining initially.
More about me
Chase does have an old racing injury and will need ongoing medical treatment in the form of pain relief, so new owners should consider the cost of this when deciding whether Chase is the right dog for them.
