AJ is a sweet, gentle, sensitive boy. He is loving and affectionate. He is instantly friendly with new people and he loves to lean into you for a fuss. AJ enjoys going for walks, he walks beautifuly on his lead, nice and gently right by your side. He likes to burn off some energy with a quick sprint around the garden. He enjoys playing with toys, he is bouncy and fun, and he loves a treat or two! He is an expert at food puzzle toys, he likes to play 'find it' games and sniff out the treats! AJ is happy to socialise with other dogs, he does not want much in the way of interaction from them, just a quick sniff to say 'hello', and then he is happy to walk side by side. As an ex-racer he can have a high chase drive and therefore safely and happily wears his muzzle when out and about on walks. AJ can become easily overwhelmed with some new situations and will need his adopters to become body-language experts, to understand when he is finding things a bit too much. AJ will need his own safe space/safe comfy bed in his home where he can relax without being disturbed.
Type of home needed
AJ is looking for understanding adopters who will give him the time to settle into a new routine of home-life. He is looking for a home with adults in a quiet environment, with access to quiet, rural walks. AJ will need his own garden and or regular access to a secure filed. AJ may need help with his house training, and time left alone will need to be built up very gradually once he feels settled and safe in his new environment. AJ will need to be the only dog in the home and he will be looking for a home without cats or small furries.
More about me
AJ will need to meet his new family 2-3 times before going home so please bear this in mind when considering him. AJ will be removed from the website when we he has identified a potential match. If a suitable home isn't found, we will repost AJ's profile on the website.
In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue
