Our rehoming centres are not open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff, visitors and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

I'm looking for a new home...

About Benji

5 to 7 Years

Benji is an energetic terrier who is toy daft! He is looking for an owner who has plenty of time for not only playing and adventures, but training too. Benji needs a hands off home who will give him lots of space and let him build a relationship in his own time. He is an independent wee dog at first but once you develop a bond with him he is affectionate and loving.

Type of home needed

Food is the way to Benji's heart, which is great for reward based training. He is looking for a home with children over the age of 16 years who can respect his space. He needs to be the only pet in the home to give his new family the time to concentrate on helping him settle into home life. In his previous home he was housetrained and was able to be left for a few hours with no problems. He needs direct access to his own garden with a secure 5ft fence to give him somewhere to run and play.

More about me

Benji would do best in a quiet home where he can go for walks in areas that are free from other dogs. His behaviour around dogs has improved but will need continued work at home and he will not be the type of dog that can be off running around with others at the park, for this reason he will need to be kept on lead in public places. We are looking for a home for Benji within 30 minutes from our Rehoming Centre.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Benji, who is based at Glasgow. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
