Casper is 11 years old but still young at heart, not quite ready for retirement yet. He came to us to find the pawfect home as he prefers adult company and would be best suited to a home with no visiting children. He has been doing well with training at the rehoming centre and we are confident he will continue to progress at home.

Type of home needed

Casper is a typical terrier who likes his presence to be known when he sees other dogs and people. Quiet areas to walk are a must so that he gets to relax during his adventures and enjoy them to the fullest. He will need to be kept on lead and wearing a muzzle due to keep him safe if other dogs or strangers were to approach but this is something that is part of his normal routine. In the home this is not required so having direct access to his own private garden with a 5ft fence is essential to allow him somewhere to enjoy time off lead, he loves to play tug and fetch.

More about me

Having someone at home all day initially would be best then the time that Casper is left alone could gradually be built up to 3 or 4 hours once he is settled. We are looking for owners with previous dog experience that are happy to visit him at our rehoming centre to build a relationship with him before he heads home. He will need to be seperated from visitors initially but does well with careful introductions to new people. He will make a cracking wee companion with an owner who can set him up to succeed. Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Glasgow Rehoming Centre.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
