MD came to us after retiring from a life of racing. He is ready to take the slow lane and enjoy a more relaxed pace. He has stayed in one of our foster homes to allow us to get a better understanding of his needs. He is now ready for his forever home. We are looking for someone who has experience of owning dogs before. It would be best for him to live in an adult only home (18 years plus) with no visiting children due to his limited vision, he may get startled easily.

Type of home needed

MD will need time to adjust to his new environment so a calm and patient family would be best. Having someone around for most of the day is important as he doesn't like to be left alone. He makes a great companion as he enjoys playing but is good at keeping himself entertained with toys, he would happily spend most of the day snuggled up on the sofa by your side or going for leisurely strolls as he walks well on lead. He must be the only pet in the home and this will allow him to soak up all the attention and leave his owner plenty of time to concentrate on any training needs. He is a very affectionate dog once he gets to know you, he builds relationships quickly.

More about me

MD will need to be kept on lead and muzzled in all public areas due to his racing past so having direct access to his own secure garden with a 6ft fence is a must for him. He will make an excellent addition to the right home. He has lots of love to give and waits patiently on his special someone coming along.MD is partially sighted and will need understanding owners that can help him adjust to his new home and family. Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Glasgow Rehoming Centre.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
