Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

About Harley

1 to 2 Years

Harley is a lovely big guy who lacks a lot of confidence. He needs a family that will work with him and our behaviour team to help him build this up. He must live with adults only and this includes visitors. He is a very smart boy who loves doing training and learning new things and has lots of potential.

Type of home needed

Harley requires his own secure private garden that has a minimum of a 6ft fence. He will benefit from a family that have owned dogs previously and that have experience of working with a nervous dog. He may need some baby gates or similar in place to give him some quiet areas that he can go to when he is feeling nervous or unsure. He is looking for a home where he will be the only dog in the home so that his new family can put all their focus on helping him settle in.

More about me

He is looking for a family who are committed to doing plenty of training and will enjoy taking on a challenge! He is a super sweet boy once he gets to know you and will need a family that will be able to come to the centre for multiple visits to build up a relationship with him. It will be very rewarding working with this big lad and he will make a great companion in the right home. We will close applications for Harley when we find a suitable home. Only the successful applicant will be contacted.Due to current restrictions we are looking for a home within 30 minutes of the centre.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Harley, who is based at Glasgow. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
