Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

About Jay Jay

2 to 5 Years

Jay Jay is your typical terrier, he is always on the go and would benefit from living with an active owner. He prefers company so will need someone around for most of the day. With some confidence building the time he is left may be gradually increased once he is settled.

Type of home needed

Jay Jay will benefit from having direct access to his own garden with a secure 5ft fence to continue practicing his training. This will give him somewhere safe to run and play too. Jay Jay can be selective with his doggy friends but could walk with them although he cannot live with another dog, he also he cannot live with cats. A quiet household is essential as Jay Jay struggles to meet new people or dogs and does require very careful introductions. He will need to live in an adult only home with people over 18 years old with no visiting children.

More about me

It would be best for Jay Jay to live in a home that have recently owned rescue terriers. He will require ongoing training and his owner should be committed to working with our training and behaviour team. Jay Jay is a really sweet boy with those that he has a bond with and will be a loyal companion in the right home.To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Come And Meet Me' button below.I am looking for a home within one hour of the centre. When I find my suitable home, applications will close and we will contact only the suitable home. Please apply only if your local lockdown restrictions allow you to travel to the centre.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Jay Jay, who is based at Glasgow. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
