Dogs Trust

UPDATE: Our rehoming centres are closed until further notice, however we are now able to rehome a small number of our amazing dogs. Each dog’s profile will let you know if they are looking for a new home. For the time-being, we are unable to register your interest for dogs who are not yet available for rehoming.

Our rehoming centres are currently closed to the public, but we are now able to start looking for new homes for some of the amazing dogs in our care. At the moment, there are only a small number of dogs who are ready for their new home, and we expect them to be very popular. Please bear with us once we have received your enquiry, and we will be in touch to talk further about whether you could be a perfect match! .

If you need urgent help regarding giving up your dog, please contact us immediately and we will offer you as much advice and support as we can. We’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs, while avoiding any close interaction with each other.

We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked and looked after. We’d like to say a big thank to you, for your continued support.

Likes

Boots is a very cute little chap who is full of beans! He is looking for an active home that have owned terriers in recent years and are happy to continue his ongoing training at home.

Type of home needed

Boots can live with older children of 16 years and over. He will be looking for a hands off home where he can have some space when he needs it. Having his own garden with a 4.5ft fence would be ideal and give him somewhere safe to play. He loves toys, especially tennis balls! He can be left for a few hours but prefers to have company.

More about me

Boots could live with the right dog but prefers dogs of a similar size. Boots will need to be kept on lead in public places and will need to be muzzled for vets visits as he can be worried by some handling. If you think you can offer the right home for this beautiful boy please visit the centre. I am currently not available for rehoming as I would like to meet my new family a few times before I go home, which is not possible due to current restrictions. My Canine Carers will let you know as soon as this changes, so keep an eye on my profile.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Boots, who is based at Glasgow. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog.

We are temporarily trialling a new ‘handover at home’ service. Instead of asking you to come to the centre to pick up your dog, we will come to you. This will only be suitable for a select number of dogs, as some of our residents require multiple meets with their new owners, and it would be better for them to stay with us until restrictions are lifted and they can spend a bit more time with you before going home.

We will, of course, be doing everything to ensure the safety of our staff, and adopters when we offer this service. You can find out more about this below.
