Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Savanagh is looking for a forever home with her mum Shadow. They are with us through no fault of their own and will make a great addition to their next home. We are looking for someone with experience of their breed or similar who can physically manage them as they are strong girls. They love going walkies and exploring so an active owner would be best.

Type of home needed

Savanagh and shadow are super friendly and can live with children over the age of 12 years old. They get on well with other dogs but are happiest when they are with each other, they really are inseperable. They cannot live with cats. They will need to have direct access to their own secure private garden with 6ft fence. They do need to be kept on lead when in public as they can be selective about coming back.

More about me

It would be best for them to have someone around for most of the day initially to help them settle but this could be built up to 4 hours or so gradually. Shadow has recently had surgery to remove an eye so the pair will be staying with us until she has fully recovered. Please only apply if your local lockdown restrictions allow you to travel to our centre. To apply to adopt Savanagh and Shadow please click on the 'come and meet me' button below. Applications will close when we find a suitable home. We can only contact the successful applicant. Due to current travel restrictions we are looking for a home within 30 minutes of the centre.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Savanagh, who is based at Glasgow. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
