Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

About Rocco

1 to 2 Years

To apply to rehome Rocco, please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when a suitable match has been found. PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID RESTRICTIONS WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS WITHIN A 1 HOUR DRIVE FROM OUR CENTRE (WR11 7RT). Rocco is a real character! He is a super zesty young boy who will make a fantastic companion if given the chance to succeed. He is an energetic chap who has already mastered some of his basic obedience (he will happily show-off his skills if a treat is promised!). Rocco can be rather overwhelmed when first meeting new humans, but does seem to really benefit from having a canine companion around to help build his confidence.

Type of home needed

A quiet but active home will be needed for Rocco, where he will not have to contend with too much going on in the home but where his need for exercise of both his body and his brain will be sufficiently fulfilled. He tries his best to be housetrained, although the occasional mistake can occur from time to time. Rocco's family would benefit from breed experience, especially in terms of Rocco's tendency to be 'all legs' and rather vocal at times. He has lived in a home previously, and may just take a little time to adjust to his new way of life in new surroundings.

More about me

Rocco can live with children of secondary school age and older, and could share his home with another dog. It may be beneficial for Rocco to have a canine companion whom he can rely upon for a little bit of a confidence boost when required. His time left alone ought to be built gradually over time, and his family will need to understand that the first meet (or two) may not be as 'hands on' as could be for some other residents.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Rocco, who is based at Evesham (Worcestershire). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
