To apply to rehome Nickel, please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when a suitable match has been found. PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID RESTRICTIONS WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS WITHIN A 1 HOUR DRIVE FROM OUR CENTRE (WR11 7RT). Nickel does everything at 100mph. He is only young and has not yet experienced much of the world around him, which brings with it a combination of intrigue and some uncertainty. Nickel is an intelligent chap with lots of potential to make a fantastic companion; He will need to be given plenty of exercise both physically and mentally in order to stay out of mischief in his new home.
Type of home needed
Nickel's family will benefit from some level of breed knowledge or experience, and will need to be able to provide a high level of activity for this energetic boy. Although Nickel has lived in a home before, he does struggle with his housetraining and may require some patience in this area. At present, Nickel can be left for a couple of hours at a time if given something to keep him occupied; This should be built-up gradually in his new home in a positive way.
More about me
Children in Nickel's home will need to be of secondary school age or older due to his bouncy disposition and tendency to forget his own size. He may be able to share his home with a playful and tolerant canine companion, although his home will need to be free of cats and other small furry pets. Lots of time and patience will need to be invested into Nickel's ongoing training, with areas including focus work, basic obedience and settle work.
In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue
our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like
to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.
