Covid-19 update: Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with social distancing measures in place to keep our staff and adopters safe.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe, including matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free.

Local restrictions may affect our rehoming procedures, so please check the rules for your area: we’re not able to facilitate appointments or adoptions across different tiers, or anywhere there are travel restrictions.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

About Boris

2 to 5 Years

To apply to rehome Boris please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when a suitable match has been found. Boris loves his food, but toys are definitely the way to his heart! He is happiest when zooming around, showing-off his rather impressive athletic abilities (although he does also relish his nap times afterwards). It is very rare for something to be going on near to Boris without him wanting to be part of the action. He really is a super zesty chap who is guaranteed to provide his family with plenty of fun and entertainment.

Type of home needed

Boris will be seeking a medium amount of physical exercise and his family would benefit from some understanding of his breed traits (such as his chase drive). Boris has spent some time in a home, where he has tried his best to be housetrained but has struggled to learn to be left on his own happily. He is a very enthusiastic lad who simply loves chasing a ball around- he would keep himself entertained for ages, although he is always appreciative of ample human interaction where his energy can be guided in the direction of playtime and exploring rather than causing mischief! Sometimes Boris' curiosity gets the better of him when out on his walks; He will need someone physically able to hold him on the lead in cases where he wishes to leap into action!

More about me

Due to his worries with sudden movements and loud noises, Boris will need people in his home to be at least 12 years of age, with visitors being the same. He will be able to live with another similar-sized dog; he enjoys canine company so one in his home of a similar size would be a huge plus point for this sociable boy (he especially loves other greyhounds!). Boris will NOT be able to live with small dogs, cats or other small fluffy pets due to his chase drive.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Boris, who is based at Evesham (Worcestershire). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
