Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

About Ocean

2 to 5 Years

To apply to rehome Ocean please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when a suitable match has been found. PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID RESTRICTIONS WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS WITHIN A 1 HOUR DRIVE FROM OUR CENTRE (WR11 7RT). Ocean is bursting with enthusiasm and energy! He is always wishing to get involved in anything going on around him, and quite literally throws himself into all that life has to offer. Ocean loves running around and chasing toys; Fetch is one of his favourite games which he would play all day if given the chance. Anyone wishing to open their home to Ocean should ensure that they are able to take on a big dog with a LOT of energy that never seems to dwindle. Not only will it be important for Ocean to be promised lots of chances to exercise physically, but he must also be given ample chances to use his brain through enrichment and brain games.

Type of home needed

Ocean is seeking a very active new home where his overflowing amounts of energy can be directed towards fun, productive ways such as trick training, physical activities like agility and food enrichment challenges. He is VERY housetrained as he has spent his life in a home environment previously. Ocean's over-the-top mannerisms can be rather overwhelming for anyone not expecting them; His family will need to be able to accept that this is one of his very strong personality characteristics that simply needs channelling into more acceptable ways. He will need to be promised a very high level of physical activity, and would like his own large, secure garden with high fencing to burn-off excess energy. Ocean is also exceptionally strong on the lead, and will therefore require not only a physically strong family, but also someone who is keen to invest lots of time into his ongoing training in several areas.

More about me

Ocean can live with children of secondary school age and older, and visitors to his home could be young (although Ocean's size and bounciness will need to be considered). He may be able to share his home with a canine companion who is confident enough to tolerate and match his zest for life and full-on approach to absolutely everything. Ocean's home will need to be free of smal furry pets and cats, and he would like his time left alone to be built-up gradually. It will be very important for Ocean's family to fully appreciate how big and bouncy he is, and that this will take lots of thought. Not only is Ocean full of beans, but he does also have some anxieties beneath his seemingly confident exterior; In many ways, his exuberance is a coping mechanism he uses in an attempt to mask these insecurities.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Ocean, who is based at Evesham (Worcestershire). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
