Once trust has been gained, Shadow is a super sweet girl with a lot to offer the right new family. Playing fetch will never be turned-down by Shadow, and infact this seems to be the best way to make friends with this lovely, bright girl. Shadow has already mastered some of her basic obedience, and is happy to show-off her best 'sit' and 'paw' for a tasty treat once she knows you. With a patient family, we have no doubts that Shadow will be a superb companion.
Type of home needed
Shadow is a very energetic girl who will require plenty of physical exercise. As well as being taken for lots of fantastic, fun walks, Shadow would love to have plenty of opportunities to show-off just how brainy she is; Being so intelligent, Shadow will require a high level of mental stimulation to prevent boredom. 'Sit', 'paw' and 'down' are no problem for Shadow, but something she is yet to master is her loose lead work and a totally reliable recall. Shadow's family will need to express a keen interest in training within their application for Shadow, as well as the intention to provide her with an active lifestyle full of adventures. To begin with, Shadow lacks confidence in terms of handling, especially around the collar area. With and slow and steady approach to this coupled with delicious treats and patience, Shadow has began to realise that it is nothing to be feared.
More about me
Shadow will need someone at home most of the time in the early days whilst she settles; This can then be built-up over time in a way that helps Shadow feel secure. Shadow is seeking an adult-only home where she can also be the only pet. She will require a very rurally-located home with minimal dogs in the area, and time will need to be invested into several training areas including focus work and confidence building. Travelling in the car is currently quite stressful for Shadow, and she would far rather not have to do this very often. It will be beneficial for some positive training to be implemented in this area once Shadow is settled, although she is unlikely to become a true fan of travelling for a while.
In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue
