Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

To apply to rehome Shadow please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when a suitable match has been found. PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID RESTRICTIONS WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS WITHIN A 1 HOUR DRIVE FROM OUR CENTRE (WR11 7RT). Once trust has been gained, Shadow is a super sweet girl with a lot to offer the right new family. Playing fetch will never be turned-down by Shadow, and infact this seems to be the best way to make friends with this lovely, bright girl. Shadow has already mastered some of her basic obedience, and is happy to show-off her best 'sit' and 'paw' for a tasty treat once she knows you. With a patient family, we have no doubts that Shadow will be a superb companion.

Type of home needed

Shadow is a very energetic girl who will require plenty of physical exercise. As well as being taken for lots of fantastic, fun walks, Shadow would love to have plenty of opportunities to show-off just how brainy she is; Being so intelligent, Shadow will require a high level of mental stimulation to prevent boredom. 'Sit', 'paw' and 'down' are no problem for Shadow, but something she is yet to master is her loose lead work and a totally reliable recall. Shadow's family will need to express a keen interest in training within their application for Shadow, as well as the intention to provide her with an active lifestyle full of adventures. To begin with, Shadow lacks confidence in terms of handling, especially around the collar area. With and slow and steady approach to this coupled with delicious treats and patience, Shadow has began to realise that it is nothing to be feared.

More about me

Shadow will need someone at home most of the time in the early days whilst she settles; This can then be built-up over time in a way that helps Shadow feel secure. Shadow is seeking an adult-only home where she can also be the only pet. She will require a very rurally-located home with minimal dogs in the area, and time will need to be invested into several training areas including focus work and confidence building. Travelling in the car is currently quite stressful for Shadow, and she would far rather not have to do this very often. It will be beneficial for some positive training to be implemented in this area once Shadow is settled, although she is unlikely to become a true fan of travelling for a while.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Shadow, who is based at Evesham (Worcestershire). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
