I am currently looking for my new family. To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Rehoming me starts here' button below. Applications will close when I have found a suitable match. Please note if you rent your property, you must be able to provide written permission from your landlord to keep a dog. We will not be able to reserve any dog until we have received this. Scout will need to meet his new family multiple times at the centre before going home. If you are shortlisted for this dog please be aware a meet will be arranged at the centre within 48 hours.

Type of home needed

Does every day feel the same to you right now? Are you in need of a big bouncy boy to boost some energy back into your home? Do you love rottweilers and need rescuing from a dog-free home?! If so - Super Scout is here to save the day! 2-year-old Super Scout is looking for his forever home with an active family who are keen to keep him both physically and mentally stimulated as he's a clever boy who likes to use his brain. Super Scout has a high prey drive so will need to be kept on lead in public, so this handsome hound is looking for his own private and secure garden at his new Superdoggo HQ to burn off plenty of energy! He does forget his own super-doggo strength at times so can be very strong on lead meaning it is important for adopters to be physically robust and able to handle him on walks. Experience of large rescues, ideally of under-socialised dogs would be preferred so please include info on this in your application.

More about me

Super Scout enjoys a calm cuddle with his favourite people but has been known to get a bit overwhelmed and over-excited at times which can lead to mouthing behaviours. Due to this he will need an adult only home without visiting children and cannot live with more than 2 people in his new home. Super Scout cannot live with any other pets and would benefit from ongoing socialisation with calm dogs out on walks as he can be reactive and sometimes shows off his super-sonic bark. He has been having regular socialising here at the centre and has come on leaps and bounds so adopters keen to carry this on at home would be ideal. Super Scout's secret weakness is food - he will do just about anything for a tasty snack!

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Basildon Rehoming Centre in Essex.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
