Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

I'm looking for a new home...

About Charlie

2 to 5 Years

I am currently looking for my new family. To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Charlie will need to meet his new family multiple times here at the centre before he can go home. Applications will close when I have a suitable match

Type of home needed

Two-year-old Cheeky Charlie is described by his canine carers as a funny lad who loves to work for food to learn cool things and keep him busy. He takes a little while to trust new people but once you're in his circle of friends he loves nothing more than laying in your lap for ALL the snuggles!! He does often forget his size and being the goofball he is, he isn't very spatially aware! He can sometimes fly up on to your lap before you even notice it and smoosh himself into you for a big cuddle! Charlie will need his family to come and meet him a few times here at the centre before he goes home to help build up a bond with him so that he gets comfortable enough to show off his silly side! Charlie will need an adult only home with no more than 2 people and cannot have any visiting children.

More about me

Handsome Charlie is looking for an experienced home away from busy roads in a quiet, low dog populated area as Charlie is uncomfortable around other dogs and would love to be able to go for walks where he won't accidentally bump into any. He will need to be kept onlead and muzzled on walks so would love a private, secure garden do zoom about in as he loves to show off how fast he can run about in our secure off lead areas here at the centre and we know he would love to do the same in his new home! Charlie will need to be the only pet in the home but with a personality like his, what more could you want?!

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Basildon Rehoming Centre in Essex.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
