I'm looking for a new home...

About Monty

2 to 5 Years

Monty is a very affectionate boy when he gets to know you. He is much more confident meeting new people though he still doesn't like to be rushed; food does help to win his heart though!

Type of home needed

As Monty finds new faces scary he is looking for an adult only home with minimal visitors. He won't be used to homelife so this transition from kennels may be a gradual one. As he needs to be kept on lead for his walks, he will need immediate access to his own garden with secure fencing of 6ft. He has doggy friends here and this will be encouraged to continue in quiet walking areas. He could potentially live with a female dog, but this would be pending a successful meet at the centre. He will need owners around most of the day as we have no history on him, so may need the time he can be left for, building up gradually.

More about me

Anyone interested in rehoming Monty, will need to live local to the centre as he isn't used to travelling in a car much.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Darlington Rehoming Centre in County Durham.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
