Our rehoming centres are not open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff, visitors and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

I'm looking for a new home...

About Rowland

2 to 5 Years

Rowland is a beautiful boy, a bit sensitive, but very loving and people orientated. He does need to work on his doggy skills, as he can be vocal around them. He likes to have company at home so does need someone around most of the day to help him settle. He is a big lad, being a Greyhound X Collie, and he definitely has attributes of both breeds.

Type of home needed

Rowland is looking for an active, quiet, adult only home that can follow on the training DT staff have had to start from scratch post surgery. He will need a sizeable garden to burn off some energy as he will need to be on lead and muzzled when out for his walks. His new home needs to have no neighbouring dogs and he should be the only pet in the home. Rowland would prefer to travel to quiet walks or have quiet areas on the doorstep so dogs can be avoided.

More about me

This gorgeous boy has spent a while at the centre and has had to have one of his hind legs removed due to an old injury before his arrival. He has come through the operation amazingly well, and is now looking forward to a new chapter of his life getting settled into a loving home of his own. If you have the time and the patience to help a very special boy find his 3 paws in a new home then please contact the centre to arrange a meet with this handsome hound.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Rowland, who is based at Darlington. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
