Idris is an affectionate 8 year old ex-racing greyhound who loves meeting new people and having a fuss. He's a gentle boy and walks nicely on the lead, although like many sight hounds he can get excited if he spots a squirrel or other small animals and so is not suitable to live with cats or small animals. He socialises with other greyhounds at the rehoming centre and is working on his social skills as he hasn't been used to being around smaller dogs much. Idris loves food and toys, and equally enjoys relaxing with a kong or silly play with a teddy!
Type of home needed
Idris is looking for a home where he can enjoy a slower pace of life and get lots of fuss and a nice comfortable bed to chill out in - he loves to stretch out on a duvet! He could live with children over 11, and potentially another dog of similar size if meets at the rehoming centre go well. He cannot live with cats or small animals. Idris requires basic training, including house training and recall, so must have direct access to his own garden.
More about me
If Idris sounds like your perfect match please get in contact to express an interest. Please note if you rent your property you must be able to provide written permission from your landlord to keep a dog to complete the rehome process. Due to expected high levels of interest you will only hear back from us if we are able to proceed with your application. We will conduct a rehoming interview with successful applicants and home visit via video. Access to emails and video technology will be essential for this process.
During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our
rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful
staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now
able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs.
This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of
being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by
your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without
your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to
those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs
get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them
their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult
time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue
looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
