Charity is a 4-year-old Dachshund looking for a special home. She is a sensitive soul who is worried by new people but is a very affectionate little lady once she is comfortable with you. Charity is a lively character at the centre who is much loved by her carers and loves cuddles. She enjoys meeting other dogs and going for walks and having play time with them at the centre.
Type of home needed
Charity is looking for a quiet adult home with no more than 3 people and minimal visitors. Charity must be the only pet in the home, although she can socialise with other dogs out and about. She will need all basic training including house training, and immediate access to a fully enclosed private garden is essential for her, as well as quiet walking locations. Her family must be committed to continuing her training under the guidance of our behaviour team, and must live within 45 minutes of the Canterbury centre as Charity will need multiple meets here and then for our behaviour team to bring her for home visits. She cannot live with anyone who is immunocompromised for medical reasons.
More about me
If Charity sounds like your perfect match please get in contact to express an interest. Please note if you rent your property you must be able to provide written permission from your landlord to keep a dog to complete the rehome process. Due to expected high levels of interest you will only hear back from us if we are able to proceed with your application. Due to the current government guidelines we are unable to rehome to any families that are vulnerable or self-isolating. We will conduct a rehoming interview with successful applicants and home visit via video. Access to emails and video technology will be essential for this process.
During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our
rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful
staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now
able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs.
This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of
being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by
your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without
your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to
those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs
get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them
their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult
time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue
looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
