Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

Sparky

I'm looking for a new home...

Sparky the 7-year-old Jack Russell is full of life and a real busy boy! He loves to be in your company and will follow you around the house and garden to be sure he doesn't miss anything. He loves to play with his teddies and will sometimes make it his mission to remove the squeaker in record time! Sparky is a fun, loveable, smiley boy and really enjoys a fuss from people he knows.

Type of home needed

Sparky needs a home with direct access to his own private and secure garden, with adopters who have lots of time to spend with him during the day. He can get stressed out by other dogs so ideally needs access to some nice walking spots in low dog populated areas. Our training team will speak to potential adopters about his behaviour around dogs and will be on hand to help with further training once he is in the home. He can live with children aged 14 years and over and must be the only pet in the home. Sparky is not a big fan of car travel so applicants must live within an easy travel distance of the Canterbury rehoming centre.

More about me

If Sparky sounds like your perfect match, please get in contact to express an interest. Please note if you rent your property, you must be able to provide written permission from your landlord to keep a dog to complete the rehome process. Due to expected high levels of interest you will only hear back from us if we are able to proceed with your application. We will conduct a rehoming interview with successful applicants and home visit via video. Access to emails and video technology will be essential for this process.

We do everything we can to provide essential care for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs who need us, now more than ever. If you'd like to help us during these challenging times, please make a donation. Your support means so much to us all, thank you.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Canterbury Rehoming Centre in Kent.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
