Jed the Springer Spaniel cross is a beautiful 11 year old man looking for a home to retire in and to help build his confidence in the outside world. It can take him a little time to warm up to people but toys are the key to his heart so if you can play a game of fetch with Jed, he'll be a happy doggie. Despite his age, he's still a playful boy with lots of energy. Jed loves his walkies but prefers them to be in quiet, rural areas.

Type of home needed

Jed is looking for a calm, adult only home in a rural location away from roads and traffic within a 1 hour drive of the Canterbury centre as he is going to need multiple home visits with our behaviour team to support his transition to his new home. Jed enjoys walking and socialising with other dogs at the centre, but he will need to be the only pet in the home. He is housetrained and will need access to his own secure, private garden along with easy access to quiet rural walk routes near his home. He can be worried at the vets and is not used to being groomed so would like a gentle owner to help him build a positive experience in this area. The training team will offer help and further support with his training in building his confidence.

More about me

If Jed sounds like your perfect match, please get in contact to express an interest. Please note if you rent your property, you must be able to provide written permission from your landlord to keep a dog to complete the rehome process. Due to expected high levels of interest you will only hear back from us if we are able to proceed with your application. We will conduct a rehoming interview and home visit via video and access to emails and video technology will be essential for this process.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Canterbury Rehoming Centre in Kent.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
