Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

Gary the Greyhound is an 8 year old gentle giant who loves nothing more than snoozing the hours away on a sofa or cosy duvet. Gary loves to go on short walks and will happily say hello to anyone who offers him a fuss or a treat! He is a clever lad and already has his housetraining under his belt. Gary's foster carers say how he makes them smile every single day with his goofy faces and that he is just a joy to look after.

Type of home needed

Gary would love a family who he can offer his love to and be kept company for most of the day. He walks really well on the lead and will trot next to you beautifully, however if a small furry was to cross his path he will likely pull to get there. Gary may be able to live with another dog in the home of similar temperament and he is suited to live with children aged 11 years and over. He would love his own secure garden to have a run around in.

More about me

If Gary sounds like your perfect match, please get in contact to express an interest. Please note that if you rent your property, you must be able to provide written permission from your landlord to keep a dog to complete the rehome process. Due to expected high levels of interest you will only hear back from us if we are able to proceed with your application. We will conduct a rehoming interview with successful applicants and home visit via video. Access to emails and video technology will be essential for this process.

We do everything we can to provide essential care for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs who need us, now more than ever. If you'd like to help us during these challenging times, please make a donation. Your support means so much to us all, thank you.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Canterbury Rehoming Centre in Kent.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
